Stingrays put in one of their best fielding performances to defeat The Gold Machine by 67 runs in the second last minor round game.
With a game next week over a newly formed team we expect to finish top of the Indoor table.
We batted first with Cara and Donna continued their good form, making a game high 38 for the first wicket and Brandi and Huw put on 35 to give us 73 after the first two partnerships. Lauren and Tahlia got themselves just into positive after being minus 15 at one stage. Rachael and Kylie looked good for a total well over 100 with 104 with two balls to go - after hitting a seven Kylie going for the 8th was run out - another wicket off the last ball left us with 94.
But our opponents first two pairs made 8 and 0 to give us control. Huw mixed up the bowling well to keep the pressure on the Gold Machine. The last two partnerships made 15 and 4 to finish with 27.
Just a reminder pre-season training starts Friday evening from 4.30 with further sessions on Sundays at Christies High School Gym on Sundays from 11-1.
Unfortunately for Jess the Morphett Vale Sharks SuperLeague womens team lost their Grand Final by 20 runs last weekend. They lost two games in the minor round.

STINGERS BACK ON THE WINNING LIST
The Stingrays moved back to the top of the Indoor table with a nine run win over Dare Devils.
We started without our two assistant coaches Daniel (injured) and Huw (School camp - good luck in this weather!!!!!)
Batting first Cara and Donna made 15, Lauren and Courtney 39, Kylie and Brandi 26 and Tahlia and Rachael 20. Our 100 proved to be just enough as the Devils made 29, 25 and 15 for their first three partnerships (69 - with 32 needed from the last pair.) Donna and Tahlia "at the death" held them to 23.
We have two more minor round games - finals are sept 14 and 21.
Thanks to Kylie and Rachael who did a great job in the absence of Huw, Daniel and Kempey.

Stingers down again to Five Dollar Bills
Having gone into match in top spot the Stingers lost to Five Dollar Bills for the third time this season.
We batted first making 68 (probably 30 runs short.) Cara and Donna made 8 ( having been 23 at the start of the last over), Lauren and Courtney made 33 (Courtney with a seven), Rachel and Brandi made 10 and Hugh and Kylie 17.
We were passed in the ninth over, with partnerships of 25, 39 and 13. The last pair batted for the win making 16.
We dropped 9 catches and one easy run out.
I expect we will play this team in four weeks time in the finals.
We wish Jess all the best as she goes into the finals with the Morphett Vale Sharks Women's Super League team.

stingers safe in the finals with three in a row
Stingrays made it three in a row and secured a finals birth with a 44 run win over The Gold Machine.
We batted first making 109. Donna and Cara opened well with 32, Tahlia and Donna recovered from minus 5 to make 15, Kylie and Courtney made 25 and Laura and Huw 25. The Goldies made 15 for their first wicket and looked to be in the game with 32 for their second. (47) But two run outs in the third pair (11) and outstanding outswing bowling from Tahlia (Ben Hilfenhaus) saw the last pair make 7. Tahlia took two wickets with her first two balls to take the Bills from needing 52 to an impossible 62 for the win.
We wish team member Daniel Carraghar well with his efforts in the junior boys hockey team over the next few weeks.
