latest games and state news

Unfortunately we have lost our last two games.

We played Gold Machine (including Brittany) loosing 77 to 81. Thomas and William made 25, Courtney and Donna 15, Cara and Brandi 17 and Sam and Rachael 21.  They made 81 with partnerships of 20, 7, 30 and 24.  A last ball desperate run with a one run lead gave us a half chance.

STATE NEWS

We had five reps in the State Indoor teams which played at Windsor Gardens in the first week of the school holidays.

Jess O'Reilly was captain with Kylie Rattray vice captain of the Under 18 side which included Rachael Greenshields, Courtney Brideson, Brittney Miller and Donna Clark.  The team was competitive in most games running Victoria to two runs.

I feel sure we will see the benefit of this sort of intensive game pressure as the season unfolds.

Courtney and Rachael bowled next. Courtney's figures were 0/10 and Rachael's  figures were 1/1.

Tom and Donna bowled last. Tom's figures were 1/20 and Donna's figures were 0/12.

It was a very exciting game.

A LOSS

STINGERS DOWN BY A RUN

Defending 35 we just failed to win over The Slappers.  Their last pair could only manage one run to just scrape over the line.

Our first pair scrapped their way back to 0 – having been minus 14 after two overs.  Courtney and Donna did a very solid job to make 17, Cara and Brandi 10 and Rachael and Sam 6 as we attempted to up the run rate.
