INDOOR TEAMS HAVE BIG WINS
Both Indoor teams had big wins before the school holiday break. The senior team was without Cara and Rachael (on state duties) and Liam C and Josh (illness) and we thank Daniel Bruce, Josh De Heus, James Scott and Kelly Armstrong for filling in. This created spots in the junior team which were ably filled by Liam M and Kayla McGrath.
The senior team made a massive 188 - Daniel and Brandi made 58, Donna and Kelly 31, Thomas and Josh 66 and James and Kelly 33. We dismissed Slappers for 13 - with their last pair being the only pair in positive numbers.
The Juniors made an equally impressive 142 - Ethen and Jessie 43, Eben and Liam 25, Nikki and Emily 29 and Hannah and Kayla 45. (Hannah hit her first seven!!!)
We held Flapjacks to 52 - with Liam taking three wickets.
Our state girls had a great week with the SA team finishing THIRD. Rachael was among the top wicket takers and Cara was involved in some very good partnerships. I am sure we will see the benefits of such intense competition in the future.
Marg Jude was the envy of all with an invitation to The LONG ROOM at Lords for the recent Australia v England game.

Indoor updates
Both teams were beaten by Aldinga Sharks and Sharks (as we were in the previous round).
We welcome Josh De Heus and Kayla McGrath who are filling in for us this week and next week (with players away on state duty.)
The senior team against Sharks made 85. Brandy and Josh made 9, Donna and James 9, Thomas and Josh De Heus made 38 and Cara and Donna 29.
Their first pair made 53 and their second pair took them within four runs. They finished with 147.
The juniors scored six and three to have us behind the eight ball – we made 36 –with Jessie and Ethan making our best partnership of 17 and our last pair (Emily and Kayla) made 10. They passed us early in the second partnership and finished with 99.
We wish Rachael and Cara well with their work with the Under 18 Indoor State team in Melbourne next week. (Jess O’Reilly, Kylie Rattray and Courtney Brideson are also in team)
Our Junior team continued their good form this season with a 31 run win over Fighting Sharks.
We batted first and continued with our consistent partnerships of recent weeks.
Kelly and Hannah (1) and James and Jessie (4) made 34 apiece and Eben and Ethan made 21 with Emily and Nikky making 24.
Our bowling and fielding were good with vital catches and run outs to Hannah, James and Jessie to keep us ahead of the game.
They had partnerships of 20, 22, 11 and 29.
Our Senior team had the bye.
Next week both teams play at 5pm – with two games before the holiday break.
Both teams had solid wins in the recent round of Indoor Cricket.
The seniors had a rather emotive game against Gold Machine. We had them in early trouble having them -14 at the half way mark. Wickets fell in every over (and three fell in Josh’s first over and three in Thomas’s first over). They finished with 42 - with partnerships of 26 and 30.
We started with -1 (better than their first pair). Rachael and Jonothan steadied the score with 17 and took the “sting” out of the game with steady batting. Josh and Liam put us 8 runs from the win with an 18 run partnership. Thomas and Cara passed their score with eight balls to spare. But a run out with seven balls left put us behind. We jagged a well run four with six balls to and a three with an over to go. Thomas faced all the balls in the last over (playing defensive outdoor cricket) to secure the win.
The juniors batted very consistently with partnerships of 26 (Jessie and James), 20 (Ethan and Eben), 20 (Hannah and Kelly) and 26 (Emily and Kelly again) to make 91.
We had Lil Rippers in early trouble with Hannah taking three wickets in two overs. Their first pair made 10 and their second 28 to have them behind the required rate. We held their third pair to 10 to have the game out of their reach. They finished with 69. One of the game highlights was the great close in fielding of Hannah Armstrong who scored three run outs and numerous near misses.
Our senior team has the bye this week.
