Batting first we had them 3/40 in the 13th with a very productive opening spell from Courtney Brideson (1/8 off four) and Brandi Ongley 1/8 off four – with Kayla Stazsuk taking 1/13 off three we were well in the game. However a 111 run 4th wicket stand between Romi Corso (68) and Fullston Medallist Kylie Tulloch (51) took the game out of our grasp.
They finished with an imposing 194. Our problems continued with the run out of Linda Shaw in the first over and the steady loss of wickets. We could not establish a steadying partnership apart from Robyn LeCornu (10) and Brandi Ongley (2) who put on 17 for the 9th wicket. All out 41.
Well done to all concerned in the post-Christmas season – to have struggled over the last 2 ½ seasons to just get a team on the park to Grand Finalists was a great effort.
Thanks to our loyal support crew of volunteers and especially our cheer squad for the GF.
Many thanks to Rob Lecornu for her input over the last two seasons. Rob has decided to move on and offer her experience and expertise to Kensington. We wish her well in her new venture.
