The season finished with losses to both teams.
However there was some good news, Kate finished with her
third score of over 40 as the Bs just failed to chase down East Torrens.
The As loss was highlighted by Donna’s three wickets which
unofficially gives her the SACA bowling trophy for A grade.
The Bs received a bonus with the late call up of Brandi
Ongley who gave us a great start with 18 runs of the first over. She and
Nuggett put on 54 in eight overs in quest of 181.
Kate Weger continued her good form with 40 no. Bakes (30) and Kate put on 46 for the 5th
wicket and Sam (18) put on 46 for sixth wicket to see us 6/156 with six overs
to go. But we could not score at the
required rate to win the game.
Brandi also bowled well but it was East Torrens top order
batter Mel Smith who dominated with 99 no.
The As rematch with TTG / N saw last week’s losers learn
from their experiences of Sunday. This time they batted with patience and their
last pair put on the 24 they needed to win.
We made 6/144 off our 50 overs.
Jess O’Reilly continued her good form with 53. She shared a 56 run stand with Kayla McGrath
(12) batting at number four. Kayla
continued her good form of the previous Sunday – batting for almost an
hour. Kylie scored 33 to take her to 522
runs for the season.
We took wickets at regular intervals with Kelly Armstrong
taking 3/41. We thought we had them at 9/120 but their
last pair scored the runs.
During the innings Donna Clark
passed Neesha Iles as the top wicket taker for the season (see separate blog.)
Don’t forget the
Presentation evening on March 22.
