Jess back to best form

After an encouraging 69 run opening stand we went down to Northern TTG by 39 runs.

In oppressive conditions the game was changed from a 50 over to a T 20 game with all rules applying.

We fielded first, taking wickets at 57 and 65 but a 101 run unbroken stand saw Northern / TTG score 166.

We were ahead of the comparative scores for the first seven overs making 69 to their 59.  But the loss of Tahlia McGrath(38 off 22 balls) slowed our momentum.

Jess O’Reilly returned to her best form with 55 at a run a ball.  It was a typical Jess innings with big shots (Including one 6) and deft cuts and dabs.

Welcome to Rachel Dickinson who made her A grade debut on Sunday.  She comes to us from Glenelg having played against some of our current players as and Under 13.

Tahlia wins second Febluary medal

Tahlia McGrath won her second “Febluary” Medal as we went down to Sturt in the last of the T20 games for the season.

She carried her bat for 48 no (the top score for the match) and took the wicket of dangerous Sturt opener Eliza Bartlett.
Batting first we made 2/102.  Tahlia   was well supported by Captain Dayna Cox (20) and a quickfire 23 from Kylie Rattray off 17 balls.

Our highest scoring over was the second last where Tahlia and Kylie took 15 off state bowler Rhianna Peate.

Sturt started their run chase well with 35 off the first three overs.  We took a wicket in the 5th and two wickets in Kylie Rattray’s third over – but they scored the runs in the 16th over.
We return to 50 over cricket this week with a game at Park 25 No 1.

Please remember the Febluary game on Tuesday the 11th Febluary (5.15 start) with Kylie and  Tahlia playing for Southern against the Police Blues.
