TAHLIA MCGRATH – OUR FIRST SCORPION!!!

Tahlia McGrath became Southern’s first Scorpion on Saturday 3rd December 2011. Tahlia, was chosen as 13th player for the senior state team on Friday and was called into the team on Saturday morning will the illness to a team mate.  She made 2, batted 17 balls and was out stumped “trying to force the pace.”  Luckily for us she was able not required Sunday in the second T20.  She celebrated with us with a well constructed 48 no where she “carried her bat” to be not out in the 19th over.

Tahlia has had success at Under 15 level (All Australian) and a score of over 50 at Under 18s level last year.

We made 90 – which was not enough with Northern getting the runs in the 16th. Kylie provided plenty of support with a brutal 31 (7 fours and one of these may have been a six!!!!)

The Bs (with five regular C graders) faced the daunting task of Adelaide Uni.

We batted our overs to make 52.  Nikki Moyle impressed again top scoring with 14 (3 fours) and put on a 21 run partnership with Kayla McGrath.  Emily Armstrong batted for 20 minutes to show her improved form with the bat this year and Amy White made 10 no told hold up the Uni attack.  Hannah Baker and Kayla Stazuk took the two wickets to fall.

The Cs had a scratch match with the Sturt girls.  This was a very good hit out for the girls who have recently joined the club.

We wish Jess and Rachael good luck with their School Volleyball commitments this week in Melbourne and Kayla McGrath with her Under 15 games this week in Sydney.

This week the As play East Torrens SATURDAY and the Bs and Cs play at GB on Sunday.
