Kensis took 115 off the first 12 overs to set up their score.

Our reply saw Jess make her best score for the season with 35 out of our 80.  The best partnership was 21 between Jess and Alecia.

Chloe Dancer hit her first 4 in the As.

The Bs lost wickets at regular intervals to be dismissed for 27.

Caitlin Secoffien and Tayla Smith took early wickets to have Sturt 2/3 in the second over, but they passed us in the eighth over.

The encouraging part of the weekend was the fact that both teams had a full set of players (with no Mums!)

It looks as if we will pick up three new players in the new year to play A grade.  We continue to recruit new players with Erin Temme and Shavani Sahni making their Southern debuts over the weekend.

Don’t forget the Christmas show on Saturday night at the Oval.

The Adelaide Strikers have secured three exciting signings, including the team’s first ever WBBL sponsor.

All-rounder Tahlia McGrath and medium-pace bowler Samantha Betts, along with Principal Sponsor, Websters Lawyers have joined for the inaugural season of the rebel Women’s Big Bash League.
 
McGrath is in career-best form, having scored her first half-century for the Breezair SA Scorpions in a match-winning partnership with fellow Striker Sarah Coyte in November’s WNCL fixture against Queensland.
 
Both McGrath and Broken Hill’s Samantha Betts will further strengthen a bowling line-up already boasting Australian Stars Megan Schutt and Sarah Coyte, as well as New Zealand fast-bowler Sophie Devine.
 
“We are thrilled to have signed two tremendously talented young cricketers in Sam and Tahlia and we expect them to play pivotal roles in the Strikers’ inaugural WBBL campaign,” said Adelaide Strikers General Manager, Bronwyn Klei.

HOT ENOUGH FOR YA!

It was a very hot weekend which saw junior grades and the B grade womens called off.

The As game was rescheduled to 10 am to dodge the worst of the heat…..

We did – my car thermometer read 47 as I drove out of Price!

We made 42…. They got them in the sixth over.

We saw three players recently named in the Adelaide Strikers Women’s team – Megan Schutt, Sarah Coyte, Alex Price and our new player from the West Indies Stacy Ann King.

We welcomed to Stacy Ann King who joined us for a few games between her Adelaide Strikers commitments.

Stacy was born in Trinidad and has joined the Strikers – she is a hard hitting middle order batter and a left arm medium quick.

Salomae Haselgrove made 3 in her debut for the As.

Our very successful Reynella Oval coaching finished Saturday thanks to Brandi for her efforts with the Girls Only group.
