All-rounder Tahlia McGrath and medium-pace bowler Samantha Betts, along with Principal Sponsor, Websters Lawyers have joined for the inaugural season of the rebel Women’s Big Bash League.

McGrath is in career-best form, having scored her first half-century for the Breezair SA Scorpions in a match-winning partnership with fellow Striker Sarah Coyte in November’s WNCL fixture against Queensland.

Both McGrath and Broken Hill’s Samantha Betts will further strengthen a bowling line-up already boasting Australian Stars Megan Schutt and Sarah Coyte, as well as New Zealand fast-bowler Sophie Devine.

“We are thrilled to have signed two tremendously talented young cricketers in Sam and Tahlia and we expect them to play pivotal roles in the Strikers’ inaugural WBBL campaign,” said Adelaide Strikers General Manager, Bronwyn Klei.

“We are also very proud to have Websters Lawyers on board, they are a progressive Adelaide-based law firm that know the importance of being prepared to break with tradition and change the mindset about how lawyers work with their clients.”

As the Adelaide Strikers’ first ever WBBL Principal Sponsor, Websters Lawyers’ Managing Solicitor Michelle Crichton believes this is the perfect partnership.

“As a genuine South Australian firm, Websters Lawyers are pleased to be the Principal Sponsor of South Australia’s own WBBL Adelaide Strikers,” said Crichton.

“We value the opportunity to contribute to our community by supporting our local professional sporting women so as to enable them to reach their full potential.

“The team at Websters Lawyers are passionate about the BBL so we jumped at the chance to throw our support behind the WBBL and we think the Strikers are going to have a great season following the Breezair SA Scorpions’ WNCL title win last weekend.”

The Adelaide Strikers begin their rebel WBBL|01 campaign on Saturday 12 December against the Hobart Hurricanes at Aurora Stadium, Launceston.
