B grade - so near and yet so far
The Bs made 64 in reply to Port 71 in the semi final.
We bowled very well to hold Port to 71 - with an exceptional performance from Captain Jess O'Reilly (3/5) off nine overs. She was well supported by swing specialist Jade Ambler who "hooped" the ball in windy conditions. Our six specialist bowlers were very good.
We set off at a good rate with 31 off the first 11overs with the openers well set. But the Port captain Kylie Tulloch changed the game - bowling nagging medium pacers and using the wind well - she took wickets consistently (4/15) to dismiss us for 64. Jess O'Reilly top scored with 19 and good late runs from Shari Bray (10) and Jas Thompson (4) gave us a glimmer of hope as the put on 10 in seven overs.
The Cs won in a forfeit and play either Prospect or East Torrens this Sunday.
