Bs win three on end

 

BS FINISH THIRD

 

The B grade girls finished third with a hard fought win over last seasons Grand Finallists Sturt.

 

It gives us three wins in a row leading into the finals next weekend.

 

We were sent in at Christies High (after Bice Oval had been watered overnight) and made 76.  Jess O'Reilly (12) and Dayna Cox (16) were the top scorers – but late order efforts from Linda Anderson (8no in just over half an hour) and Kylie Dannenberg 8 (30 minutes) were very important to creep the score up.

 

We took early wickets 3/8 off 12 overs from the openers Dayna Cox and Jess O'Reilly.  For the rest of the innings we "choked" the Sturt batters to less than a run an over to the 25^th over.  Our fielding and field placements were superb.

 

Jasmin Thompson 2/8 and openers O'Reilly 2/6 and Cox 3/7 were outstanding.

 

The Cs won on a walkover to Port giving them second spot and a home final next weekend.

 

Next week both sides play Port with venues to be confirmed Monday evening
