The Bs win over Northern has secured us a finals spot. Our win over Northern and Sturt's loss to top side Tea Tree Gully has guaranteed us at least fourth spot. A win next week will give us third.
This week on winning the toss we chose to bat. Reshuffling the order saw good runs to Tahlia McGrath 40, Rachael Greenshields 28 and Courtney Brideson 15 early, but we were 8/128 with seven overs to bat.
Karin Prince put on a powerhouse performance in the last four overs taking her score from 3 to 49no in 20 balls. She was well supported by 10 year old Kayla McGrath who made 4 off 21 balls in 30 minutes in her first innings in B grade. The seventh wicket stand of 62 was a new B grade record.
The bowlers were accurate and secured all but one of the eight wickets to fall either bowled or lbw with Tahlia McGrath taking career best figures of 6/24 off six overs.
We welcomed back Kylie Rattray after her serious arm injury. Kylie fielded well and was a very important part of the win.
The Cs had a shocker against top team Prospect.
We were dismissed for 7 and 37. Prospect made 5/107 dec. Top run scorer of recent weeks Nic Adams scored a pair.
Sue Genockey and Emma Genockey batted together in the first innings (the first mother and daughter to bat together.) Sue scored her first run for the Cs in the second innings.
The combined 16s 13s team had a one wicket win over Sturt.
