The A grade continued their perfect start to the season with a 42 run win over arch – rival Tea Tree Gully.
We lost the toss and were put in on a wicket which was affected by the overnight rain – we were in early trouble losing 4/17 (wickets falling to state opening bowler Steph Morrison) – but a 30 run stand between Jess and Marg Hay (the best for the game) steadied the ship and Nuggett's late order hitting saw us to 94 on the wicket which still had a little bit in it.
Jess's 31 no ( in just under two hours) was the backbone of the innings.
They started well with 23 in the first eight overs. But the injury to one of their batters started a collapse which saw three batters fall in the 15 minutes before tea including
Donna removed the dangerous state batter Tamara Clapton.
After tea it was the Dayna Cox show – she took 6 wickets in 10 balls in a devastating spell of accurate seam bowling..
Dayna's remarkable spell….

B Grade
The B Grade battled their way to 65 against last years finalists
We batted our 40 overs with Robyn Lecornu making 17 and being given great support from Linda Anderson (11) – 27 run partnership and Jess Vincent late in the innings.
We took two early wickets (2/31) but they passed us in the 13th over. (Tina Leicester making 69).
Brandi had a good game with two wickets and 11 and Cara Allen bowled six accurate overs.
( A big thank you to Linda McGrath who played and A graders Courtney, Marg Hay and Rachael who assisted with sub fielding.)
The Cs opened the season with a win.
They scored 47 after we sent them in. Kayla Staszuk took a wicket with her first ball and Mum Joy also took a wicket (caught Kayla) – but Tianna took the figures with 2/11.
Our batting saw two good innings from newcomers Georgia Tilbrook (best partnership of 20 with Kayla) and Nikki Moyle ( partnership of 20 with Marg Jude.)
Once again Joy and Marg were great in the field with the youngsters.
A warm welcome to Danika Thomas who played her first game on Sunday.
