Womens A Grade win

The Women's A Grade got away to a strong start against Northern District by making 6 for 226 of 50 overs. Top scoring was Dayna Cox with 58 from 120 balls and she was well supported by Jess O'Reilly 52 from 100 balls.

In reply the Jets fell well short with 8 for 199 of 50 overs. Marg Hay was the pick of the bowlers taking 4 for 30 from her 10 overs, Jess added to her contribution with the bat taking 2 for 26 of 10 overs and Donna Clark also picked up 2 wickets for 43 of 8.1 overs.

A good solid victory which can only bring confidence to the entire Women's playing group.

The inexperineced B's were beaten by a strong Northern outfit, chasing the Jets 9 for 150 of 40 overs with Kayla Staszuk taking 2 for 19 of 6 overs, Kelly Armstrong 2 for 29 of 6 overs and Emily Armstrong chipping in with 2 for 6 of 4 overs.

The Stingrays were never in the run chase. In reply the Stingrays were all out for 52, despite a spirited fighting 32 run last wicket stand by Joylene Brown and Marg Jude, Northern ran out convincing winners.

All will be better for the hit out and we wish our Women every success for the coming 20-20 round against Port Adelaide.
