As demolish Northern Bs welcome back Shari and the Cs just go down

The A grade defeated Northern for the second time for the season with a74 run win the T20 game

We batted first making 130 off the 20 overs.  Dayna was the backbone of the innings with 42 (40 balls) and her 63 run partnership with Marg Hay (43 off 36) set up the better than a run a ball score.  Kylie's 16 off six balls included four boundaries. (strike rate in this competition is 210!!!! 63 runs off 31 balls)

Jess O'Reilly (fresh off the plane from her Volleyball trip) bowled State Squad members Stockley and Fiebig in three balls in her first over to put the Northerners behind the eight ball.  We bowled and fielded well with Tahlia McGrath taking the figures of 3/14 off four overs.

The Bs welcomed back Shari Bray after her adventures in the wilds of South America.  Shari carried her bat for 36 no out of our total of 2/78.  She was well supported by Kayla Staszuk (24 including five 4s.)

Port passed us in the 18th over – but not after a couple of scares.  We took 4/10 from overs 14-17 after the Port captain retired (not realising she could not return!!!)

Shari also took a wicket as did (caught daughter bowled Mum for the second time for the season!!!!)

The Cs were set 88 after we held them to 12 in the last five overs.  Kayla McGrath took the figures in her split spell (2/13) and Hannah Armstrong took her season tally to eight with another wicket in her first over (after two last game.)

We started well with Amy White and Kelly Armstrong making 31 in the first eight overs. But we could not maintain the run rate falling 23 runs short.  Marg Jude continued her "red ink" form with 8no (still to be dismissed this season.)

The Bs have the bye next week – the As play TTG in a T20 game on Saturday and the Cs play Sunday.

Well done to Dayna Cox who finished 2nd in the District Cricket Relay last Saturday during the Test Match.  She and Jack Taylor earned $1000 for the club from sponsors the Commonwealth Bank and Vodafone.
