A’s finish first half of the season with a win… Cs fall just short again

The As finished the pre-Christmas half of the season with a big T20 win over Tea Tree Gully.  The Gullies were weakened with the loss of Coach Steph Morrison (CA Cup) and State rep Tamara Clapton.  We batted first with Courtney Brideson 23 (33) powering her way to her PB in A grade and Jess O'Reilly 32 (33) giving us the perfect start with 52 off the first 10 overs.

We lost three wickets in four overs to get behind the run a ball rate – but a late flurry from Donna Clark 11 off 11, Shari 3 off four, Rachael 3 off five and Marg Hay 31 off 16 we finished with a very competitive 7/121.

Our first ten overs in the field played the Gullies out of the game –they scored 24 (to be 39 behind the required run rate.)  Dayna 0/3, Courtney 0/7 were able to "keep it tight" with Marg Hay and Donna Clark finishing with two wickets each.

The Cs fell just 10 runs short in their T10 rain shortened game against Tea Tree Gully.  We held them to 50 off 10 overs with wickets to Kelly Armstrong (first over for three games in a row) and Brandi Ongley.

We started well with 14 off the first two overs – but we suffered a mid order collapse losing four wickets in two overs to put us behind in the run chase.  Ellie Jamieson batted well in the lower order and her 18 run stand with Marg Jude brought us within sight of a win. But we fell agonisingly short.

The Bs had the bye.
