TAHLIA IN NATIONAL UNDER 18 SQUAD - ARMSTRONGS BIG WEEKEND!!!

All three Armstrong girls had a good weekend.  Kelly took a “ Michelle” five for, Hannah continued her good form with two more state players and Emily made her A grade debut.
The Bs continued their winning way with a four wicket win over TTG / Northern.
Batting first the combined side made 101 – with Kelly Armstrong (5/20) and Kayla Staszuk (3/12 – all three in one over) bowling well.

Leg spinner Kelly took the had the openers caught in the 11th over and followed up with 3/8 off 5.3 in her second  spell.  Both the Baker “sisters” (no relation) took two catches each and Marg Hay kept well with two stumpings and a catch as keeper.  We took the last five wickets for 16 runs.

In quest of 102 Robyn Lecornu (8) and Linda Shaw (21) gave us a good start with 23 off 9 and Kayla Staszuk (9) took us to 50 off 13.  Marg Hay (25 retired) and Nick Baker (21)  put the cream on the cake to see us pass their score in the 33rd over.  The 32 run sixth wicket stand between Marg and Kelly Armstrong (8) saw us to 98.
The highlight from the A grade squad was the news that Tahlia McGrath has been offered a position in the Australian Under 18 Training Squad.  She has been invited to Sydney in April for a battery of tests to give her a coaching program for the next 12 months.
Tahlia also played in the Annual Police game on Tuesday evening.  She took a catch and earned a wicket (bowled) – the less said about her batting the better (damn that Megan Schutt!!!!)
The As were dismissed for 79 over ladder leaders TTG / Northern.  Our top score was Kylie Rattray with 21 - with late order scores of 12 from Courtney and 10 from Hannah Armstrong.
Hannah continued her good form with the ball with state squad members Silva and C Feibig as we had them 2/14 in the 8th over.  But a 152 third wicket stand took the game away from us.
Courtney Brideson and Rachael Greenshields took two wickets each.
Congratulations to Emily Armstrong who became Baggy Red Number 35.
The Cs began their mini season of Super 6s games.  Thanks to all six players who played – including Judy Moyle who became player 45 for the season.
This week we have the As playing at Bice, the Bs at Christies and the Cs at the Paddocks.
