The As opened their account in the 50 over comp with a 52
run win over Port.
Batting first we batted our overs making 7/145. This was about par on the slow running
Christies High ground. Tahlia was the
backbone of the inning with a patient 44 (115).
She opened at batting well into the 43rd over. Her partnership of 58 with Kylie (42 off 52)
set up the innings and her 46 run stand with Marg Hay (27 off 55) was the cream
on the cake.
Kylie’s 42 was punctuated with 5 fours and 2 sixes.
We field well – getting a run
out in the fourth over to put the pressure Port. Wickets fell in clusters as Dayna took three
in six balls across her fifth and sixth overs, Kayla took three in four overs
and Donna finished the innings with three in four balls.
The Bs were set 67 off 20 at Christies. Brandi and Hannah gave us a great start with
the ball to have West Torrens 3/7 in the 5th over but a 50 run
fourth wicket stand took the game out of our reach.
We also had an early order collapse to be 3/1 after two
overs.
Hannah batted for 45 minutes for 11 to be our top scorer.
Many thanks to Chloe and Kelly who sub fielded for the Bs on
Sunday.
We have a bye next week and at least six players away for
the December 2 round. So if you can’t play please tell Kempey or Marg ASAP.
The C grade has their only
pre-Christmas game on Sunday December 2.
Thanks to everyone in the Christies Open Market display
Saturday morning. We have at least two
leads for sponsorship from this display.
Congratulations
to Kayla McGrath, Hannah and Kelly Armstrong and Tabitha Saville who have been
chosen to represent SA in the Under 15 state team in Sydney in late November
early December. Go well!!!
Good luck also to Kayla McGrath who will be the flag bearer
on Saturday during the Test Match.
Donna, Rachael, Dayna, Cara and Shaunie Green have also been granted
this honour.
