Tahlia All Australian - SA finishes fourth in Under 18s

Tahlia McGrath was one of two SA players to earn All Australian honours at the recent Under 18 championships.

This follows a similar honour when she played Under 15s three seasons ago.

She opened the batting in all innings scoring 169 runs in eight innings at an average of 21.1 with a strike rate of 64.5.  Her  top score was 54 against WA and a score of 22 in the one wicket loss to NSW. She was SA’s top run scorer and finished fifth overall (to the top scorer who scored 232 runs.)

She also took five wickets with an economy rate of  2.29 runs per over off 28 overs.  Some of these were bowled as an opener or “at the death.”  She opening the bowling in T20.  Her performance of note was two T20 innings where she bowled 8 overs 2 maidens 2 for 9 across two games.

Georgia started the championship well with 30 (as part of a 106 run partnership with Tahlia) but was injured soon after and did not play a further game.

Tabatha took over Georgia’s opening spot and finished the tournament with 80 runs with a top score of 36.

Donna officially took one wicket although there was some confusion with numbers and scorers so her stats are not reliable.
