State news

The Scorpions look like they will be semi finalists in the 50 over competition. SA beat Tasmania to go two games clear in fourth spot with one to play.
From a Southern viewpoint Tahlia and Sarah had good games.  Sarah completed five dismissals as a keeper with one catch and four stumpings.  Two of the stumpings were off opening bowler Megan Schutt and our own T Mac.
Tahlia took the last wicket bowling “at the death” and bowled in the middle of the innings. She finished with 1/28 off 8.3 overs.

Sarah made six off 22 balls in the early stages of our innings. Tahlia came in at the loss of her wicket (4/32) and played a steady innings which secured the win.  She made 31 off 80 balls and shared 25, 36 and 24 run partnerships to see SA 28 runs from victory.  We scored the win in the 45th over.

Then they  (Tasmania) came out and bowled extremely well to the SA Scorpions and looked very much on top taking many early wickets but McGrath dug in and made an impressive 32 runs with good back up from Wellington and then dragged them back in the game again…
