THREE WINS - BS NOT IN FOUR - YET!

All Women's teams won over the weekend.  The Bs defeated Kensington OUTRIGHT for the second time this season, the Cs beat nemesis Port and the Under 16s defeated Kensington.

Nic "Nuggett" Adams scored a PB of 55 (retired) in the C grade as we batted our overs to set Port 132.  Our bowlers reduced Port to 6 for 27 – but a stubborn 7th wicket stand of 42 held us up.  But clever bowling from captain Kylie Dannenberg (who dismissed fellow captain – Anne Deaton) sealed the game.

The win was our first over Port in C grade since the Grand Final of 2007 (nine games) and gives us a chance of a home final.

The Bs followed the pattern of the Cs last week.  We put the pressure on Kensington from the start dismissing them for 28 with Jasmin Thompson back to her best with 3/8.  Our batters made short work of the target (15 off the first over) to declare just after tea at 3/101.  We set ourselves a similar time frame to the Cs with just under two hours to bowl the Browns out.  Victory by an innings and 12 runs was achieved in the 18th over.  Jess O'Reilly 3/6 did the damage early and Karin Prince 4/3 cleaned up the tail.

Despite the Bs win we are not in the four as 4th team Sturt defeated 3rd placed team East Torrens – but the margin is now only three points.  We play Northern this week and Sturt play top team Tea Tree Gully.  We have Sturt in the last round.
