Women: A’s down in a thriller

The As lost by one run against West Torrens on Sunday. We had the Eagles 7/68 in quest of 78 but they scored the runs. Their opening bat carried her bat for 42 no.

Tahlia McGrath took the figures with 3/18.

Jade Ambler was player of the match with 20 and 2/7. But there were very good performances from Tahlia McGrath 3/7 and Marg Hay 13.

With 26 overs to go in the second dig we got ourselves into a slight bit of trouble losing eight wickets in 12 overs – but determined batting from Donna Clark and Jade Ambler saved the outright as the captains agreed to call it off with 10 overs to go. (We led by 50 at that stage.) Dayna's quickfire 26 off 13 balls was a highlight.

The Cs were held up by some very good batting from the kensy openers who put on over 80 in the 12th over. We made 82 with good scores from Kayla McGrath (18) Courtney Brideson (15) and Brandi Ongley (13 and a PB)

With the late re-scheduling of games in B and C grade and consequent unavailability of players on Saturday we forfeited B grade.
