Women: TAYLA MAKES SUCCESSFUL RETURN

Tayla Ferguson made a triumphant return to the Club with a four wicket haul in the Bs.

We battled hard in the Bs but could not stave off the outright.

As well as welcoming Tayla back we welcomed Brittany Miller and Jacinta Stopin to the Bs. Jacinta batted with good defensive technique in both innings – batting for 50 minutes in the first dig and showing us two great on-drives.

Brittany bowled well with 3 overs for two runs – with only one ball of the 18 scored off the bat. She also fielded superbly wherever the ball followed her.

The As got off to a great start with early wickets to Donna and Cara (first A grade wicket) against TTG (2/21). We kept them to a respectable 156 off fifty. Tahlia continued her great form with a further three wickets -now 16 - two off the SACA leader.

But our batters could not put together partnerships to make a challenge. We avoided the follow-on mark making 83 (156-75 = 81) so we did not have to bat again.

The Cs ended up with an average style game. We welcomed back Hannah Clarke.
