Women: BIG WEEKEND FOR MUMS!!!!!

The highlight of the weekend has been the performance of the Mum's (Linda McGrath and Fiona Gore.) Both Mum's outscored their daughters – in Linda's case she outscored BOTH Tahlia and Kayla.

In A grade Tahlia McGrath continues her good form to see her as equal leader in the wicket takers with 13.

From a team viewpoint we were very pleased to have all three teams playing again this weekend.

The As made a competitive 124 (with 36 penalty runs this was 160). Nuggett top scored at Number 9 with 20 no, but all players batted with good concentration and kept Kensington in the field for 46 overs. Shari batted 90 minutes, Tahlia 66, Marg Hay 46, Nuggett 47 and Kylie Rattray 30.

We had the Browns 1/25 in the fifth over, but a 65 run second wicket stand and a 61 run fourth wicket stand took the game out of our reach. They passed our score with seven wickets in hand.

Tahlia had the figures with three wickets (one with a leggie!) and Donna continued her good form with 2/33.

A big thank you to team manager Barry McGrath who took on the coaching duties in Joe's absence. (Joe conducting coaching clinics in Melbourne on Sunday.)

The Bs battled hard to make 53 in their first dig, Jess Vincent top scored with 13 – but a 31 ball (34 minute) innings of 4no from OH AH L MCGRATH !!!!was the highlight for all. East Torrens captain Teena Leicester completed her second hundred in a row with 111 no when the declaration came.

We batted far better in the second dig. Cara Allen scored a PB at B grade with 18 and Courtney scored 21 to put her back into form.

We batted to 5.50 – but could not stave off the outright as they brought back their front line bowlers.

We welcomed back to Steph Barrett who played her first game for the season. A big thank you to Marg Hay and Jess O'Reilly who sub fielded for the Bs so we had 11 on the field when they batted.

The Cs made 59 against our traditional rivals Port. Captain Amy White led the way with 19 and Marg Jude made her PB for Southern with 10. We had three of the eight players from the Gore family with Mum and two daughters – equalling the efforts of the McGrath family last year in the Cs.

A warm welcome back to former C grade Captain Nikki Koritsa who played her first game for two seasons making 8 and running between the wickets very well.

Next week sees the Remembrance ceremony for Bangka Sunday at the SA Women's Memorial Playing Fields with a service at 10 am. If you are unable to make it there will also be a minutes silence before the start of games at Park 25 on Sunday.
