Kylie PB in As loss - Bs safe in second

Kylie Rattray continued her good form of recent weeks with a usual hard hitting 75 with 9 fours and 2 sixes.

Kylie has been invited to be an “add on” player for the state team and will play in the City v Country game at Adelaide Oval Wednesday evening.

We put Port in taking an early wicket (1/32) but they had a series of significant partnerships (60, 21, 43, 50 and 40) to achieve 282.  State wicket keeper Alicia Dean scored 78.  Tahlia McGrath continued her good form with the ball taking 3/41.

We lost early wickets to be 5/18 in the 9th.  Kamani (30) and Kylie (75) started the revival with a 57 run   partnership to have us six runs behind Port at the 25 over mark (5/110 to 3/116) and five runs behind at the 30 over mark (5/136 to 3/141) but the loss of two wickets in the 30 to 35 over spell put us behind the required rate.

Kayla McGrath scored her PB at A grade level with 22 off 63 balls – batting for just on an hour.  The 70 run partnership for the seventh wicket was the best for the A grade in four seasons. (and the best for the Women’s teams in all grade for the seventh wicket.)

Rachael Greenshields and Jess O’Reilly put on 45 for the ninth wicket to bat us into the 46th over taking us to 197.

The Bs received a very late forfeit from Port (10.30pm Saturday night.)  This gives us second spot with a semifinal against either West Torrens, Sturt or Northern TTG on Sunday 25th.

The C grade finished their Supa six smash season with a game on Adelaide Oval which was a great thrill for all of us – including the umpires.

Thanks to Marg Jude for her work with this team and players Nikki Moyle, Amy White, Tianna Muirhead, Serena Ongley, Judy Moyle and the Faulkner girls who played in this team over the last six weeks.
