Cara PB as Bs battle hard

The Bs played the only game this weekend.

The As games were cancelled as last Monday’s grand final of the T20s was played at Adelaide Oval.

Sturt batted first scoring 201.  We took and early wicket  but a 95 runs stand for the second wicket set up the game for the Blues.  Alecia Holt was the pick of the bowlers with 4/21 off eight overs  (nine wickets in her last two games) and Brandi Ongley took two late wickets.

We lost our first five wickets at regular intervals to be 5/78 off 18 overs.  Chloe Lyons (19 for the second consecutive innings) and Cara Allen (43no) put on 62 to give us a glimpse of a win. We needed 61 off the last 10.  But the loss of Chloe slowed the momentum.

Cara’s innings was very patient.  It was her PB surpassing 29 no  made in a T20 game last season.
She hit `six boundaries  on the slow running Price Memorial Oval and batted over 100 minutes.

This week we start our Saturday morning coaching at Reynella Oval.  This will run for the next six weeks.

We will also be involved with the pre game activities on February 12 before the Febluary game against the Police.
There are no B grade games on February 14 due to the unavailability of the Playing Fields.  The annual Bangka Memorial service will be held at 10 am.  If you are keen to be involved please see Kempey.

We wish Sarah Taylor all the best with her games in New Zealand over the next few weeks and thank her for her contribution over the season.
