TWO WINS IN A ROW!!! - T MAC MASTER CLASS - AGAIN and BRANDI THREE IN FOUR

The As won two 50 overs games in a row for the first time since 2012-13.

T Mac continued her golden vein of form with her second hundred in eight days.  (The innings also saw her take her season’s runs to 516 at 86.17.)  She now leads the SACA A grade Women's table by 261 runs with three games to play.  She has nine wickets to be one behind the leader.

We won the toss and Tahlia and Rachael started from where they left off last week.  This week they batted into the 23rd over making 132 (at a run a ball.)

Tahlia made 153 off 130 balls with 19 fours and one six.  She was dismissed at 225 scoring 68% of our runs. She opened with a four off the first ball of the innings and hit a boundary off the first or second ball of an over seven times in the first 18 overs of the game.  (West Torrens changed their field placings later in her innings.)

She scored 50 in 59 balls, 100 off 91 balls, 150 in 126 balls.

We scored over 250 for the second week in a row.  Kayla McGrath made 14, Donna Clark 11 and a nice cameo from Anna Kerrison (16 no ) late in the innings saw us with 8/256.

Tahlia secured the valuable wicket of ex state player Angela Moritz in the third over, but it was Brandi Ongley who opened up the Eagles middle order.  She took the wickets of Under 18 state player Brooke Harris, Under 15 state rep Tait Mackrill and Louella McCarthy in four balls in her second over.  With West Torrens at 4/21 in the sixth over we were well on top.

Tahlia topped off her master class with two further wickets and two catches.
Brandi’s 4/30 was a PB for her in A grade. It surpassed her best of 3/33 v Sturt in 2010/11 in B grade.

The Bs game was cancelled due to the heat.  A big thank you to Ella, Bridee, Rachel D and Tayla who subfielded throughout the Eagles innings.
We welcome  our second Darren Lehmann Academy player this weekend.  Tammy Beaumont comes in on Wednesday evening. She is an English International and is the understudy to Sarah Taylor as wicketkeeper for England.
