Both As and Bs lost to two of the powerhouse teams of the
competition.
Georgia Weatherspoon was the shining light in the As quest
for 136. On the back of some good scores
“on the island” Georgia scored 48 (57 balls) being dismissed off the last ball
as she tried to score her first 50. 48
was a PB.
She came in at a precarious 2/1 in the second over and
batted the remaining 19m overs.
Kylie Rattray continued her good form with 38 no off 28 balls. (This takes her to 254 runs at an average of 75 and a strike rate of over 140 runs / 100 balls in the seven games she played in this competition.)
West Torrens made 7/136 on the back of State Captain Lauren
Ebsary who made 43. We took wickets in
clusters with Tahlia taking four wickets in eight balls and Dayna taking two of
her three in five balls in her last over.
The Bs were set 236 against the very powerful Adelaide
Uni. Cara took two wickets.
There were some very positive efforts with our batting –
with the team batting our 40 overs and good scores from Samantha Dowling 23 no
and Captain Nicole Baker 23. Marg Hay
top scored with 32.
Our score of 8/154 was the highest score
against Uni for two seasons.
This week C grade begins with a game at Ford Oval at 12 noon
on Sunday.
The As have Sturt at Price and
the Bs have West Torrens at Christies High both games on Sunday.
